CDA Greenlights Fast-Track Launching of Facilitation Office
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has realized the demand of stakeholders and general public to start a quick information and guidance center in Islamabad. The CDA signifies the nod to the launch of a facilitation centre to provide facility to the general public. For this, the Islamabad controlling authority has signed the approval of building plans. The building is said to be name Facilitation Centre. This public information centre will facilitate the public with streamlining the process and offer quick solutions for citizens. The decision to start a help center was made during a board meeting at the CDA headquarters, presided by Chairman Anwarul Haq.
How The New Facilitation Office Will Assist Public
Under the new system that will be launch in the Facilitation Office control by CDA, now the small residential building plans can now be approved within 48 hours. While commercial building plans will take 72 hours, subject to the payment of additional fees. The move comes as a response to the observation that the existing 21-day approval. The new timeline will not have to face challenges due to factors such as a high volume of applications, staff shortages, and various observations on submitted plans.
Benefits of the CDA Facilitation Centre
The core benefit of the CDA Facilitation Centre at the Building Control Directorate is that it will allow applicants to directly submit their drawings and documents. The board unanimously agreed to this initiative, recognizing its potential to provide a fast-track facility to citizens.
Who Can Get Facilitate By CFC
In the initial phase to get facilitate by the CDA Facilitation Centre (CFC), the residential plot size should be up to 60’x90’. The applicant will be eligible for a 48-hour approval, while commercial plots measuring up to 500.00 sq-yards, with a covered area less than 10,000 sq-feet, will be consider within 72 hours. To avail of this expedited service, applicants will need to pay additional charges, on top of the normal scrutiny fee.
Commercial Plot Stakeholders Rights
The CDA authorities have approved the fee structure for fast-track approval. They said, fee will be Rs.20,000 for residential plots. Up to 356 square yards, Rs.30,000 for plots larger than 356 square yards. On the other hand, charges of Rs.50,000 for commercial buildings with a covered area of 5,000 square feet. Plots exceeding 5,000 to 10,000 square feet will incur a fee of Rs75,000 for fast-track approval.
Moreover, allowances were approve for staff working late hours and on holidays to ensure the efficient operation of the facilitation centre. The decision to implement this fast-track approval system was prompt by the recognize need for quicker building plan approvals.
